5 Alternators Later...STILL Not Charging?? (Ford Escape V6)

I feel like I'm married to this 2006 Ford Escape :( 2 years ago we replaced a failing Voltage Regulator inside the Alternator to fix a severe OVERCHARGING condition (30 Volts!!) 1 month ago, the SAME thing happened, and I installed ANOTHER new aftermarket voltage regulator. Now, the customer says the Battery Warning light has been coming on for the past few days. They tried driving the car to my shop but STALLED OUT at night with a mile to go!! WHAT DO WE DO? I REALLY don't want to swap out this miserable alternator AGAIN!!!!!! We still need to DIAGNOSE the issue before jumping to conclusions. This time the alternator is shutting OFF while driving, unlike the previous Overcharging events... After an extended test drive, I'm not convinced that it needs ANOTHER ALTERNATOR...
