Video Description

The Boys on Amazon might be the best example of an adaption that’s better in almost every way and I’m being generous by not saying the whole thing is outright better. Characters like Homelander and Billy Butcher are much more nuanced and aren’t just the worst possible person you can imagine with a little extra trash sprinkled in. The original was billed as a critique of superheroes but never really got there and felt more like anti-love letter or I guess hate letter works better to the genre by Garth Ennis who’s said multiple times that he really really hates superheroes. Now in the show, you’re going to actually hate superheroes because they’re written like real people with flaws that could’ve been great but fall rather than just seeing a bunch of supervillains masquerading as heroes. The Amazon show is far from perfect but when it comes to the various changes that it’s made to the source material during it’s run, it’s been a diabolical good time. So in this video, we’re talking about all the different changes from Black Noir to Stan Edgar and how they’re different from the comics. If you liked the video, wanted to yell at me that the comics are better (you’re wrong), or found something that I left off for you to fill the comments with, throw them down there in the comment section. And don’t forget to do all the YouTube stuff like, hitting the sub button, liking the video and hitting the notification bell so you don’t miss another video where I say that the comics are bad and the show is good.
