Video Description

In the final round of the 2006 Corus tournament, Viswanathan Anand delivered a masterpiece against Boris Gelfand. From a Sicilian Najdorf, Anand unleashed a stunning knight sacrifice on move 13, followed by a shocking rook sacrifice on move 17. This double-sacrifice shattered Black's defenses, leading to a relentless attack. Despite Gelfand's resilient defense, Anand's initiative proved too powerful, culminating in a brilliant endgame sequence that forced Gelfand's resignation. A true tactical gem from the then-future World Champion.
