The man they are telling Tendler to ruin is her ex-husband, the famous comedian John Mulaney, with whom Tendler had recently gone through a messy divorce. But when the book was published, there was virtually nothing about the artist's ex. There was, however, evidence in the text that Tendler had been silenced by an NDA, and, tying together the text, a profound hatred of men. In this review, we get into the backstory about Tendler's divorce, her approach to feminism, and why I believe she was unfairly silenced.
