The boat people are referred to with other different names outside of Guangdong. Though many now live onshore, some from the older generations still live on their boats and pursue their traditional livelihood of fishing. Historically, the Tankas were considered outcasts. Since they were boat people who lived by the sea, they were sometimes referred to as "sea gypsies" by both Chinese and British. Tanka origins can be traced back to the native ethnic minorities of southern China known historically as the Baiyue who may have taken refuge on the sea and gradually assimilated into Han Chinese culture. However, Tanka have preserved many of their native traditions not found in Han culture. A small number of Tankas also live in parts of Vietnam. There they are called Dan (Đàn) and are classified as a subgroup of the Ngái ethnicity. Bingsheng: August 8, 1996, Cao Sibiao and his brother-in-law partnered to open a seafood stall "Bingsheng" in Haizhu District. In 1998, they pioneered the "Ice Plate Fish Sashimi." In 2000, Bingsheng Wu Feng store opened, focusing on a comprehensive Cantonese restaurant. In 2006, they established "Bingsheng Private Kitchen," a high-end Cantonese cuisine. In 2010, they founded "Bingsheng Mansion," a mid-to-high-end Cantonese cuisine. In 2013, they created "Chan Yi Cha Su," a vegetarian cuisine. In 2015, they established "Xiao Bingsheng," a people-friendly Cantonese cuisine. Haiyin Park: Haiyin Park is located on Binjiang East Road on the south bank of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, on the southeast side of Haiyin Bridge. The whole park is bounded by Binjiang East Road, which is divided into two parks, north and south, and the north park area is mainly formed by reclaiming land from the river. The total area of the park is 35,500 square meters.
