የዚህ ሳምንት እንግዳችን በኢትዮጵያ ህጻናት እና ወጣቶች የአእምሮ ጤና ላይ ፈር ቀዳጅ በመሆን በርካታ አስተዋጾ ያበረከቱ የስነ-አእምሮ ሃኪም እንዲሁም የስጦታ የአእምሮ ጤና ማእከል መስራች እና ዳይሬክተር ከሆኑት ዶ/ር ዮናስ ባህረጥበብ ጋር ያደረግነዉ ቆይተ እነሆ። የህክምና ትምህርታቸዉን በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከዚያም በህጻናት እና ወጣቶች የአእምሮ ጤና ስፔሻላይዝድ ፌሎሺፕ በቶሮንቶ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ክሊኒካል የተማሩት ዶ/ር ዮናስ ፣ በሙያቸው አለም አቀፋዊ የአዕምሮ ህክምና ልምምዶችን ከኢትዮጵያ አውድ በማዋሀድ ትልቅ አሻራ አሳድረዋል። ላለፉት 14 አመታትም የስጦታ የአእምሮ ጤና ማእከልን በመመስረት እና በመምራት ፣ በሺዎች ለሚቆጠሩ ህጻናት እና ታዳጊዎች የአእምሮ ህክምና አገልግሎት በመስጠት ከፍተኛ ተጽዕኖ ፈጥረዋል። በተጨማሪም የኢትዮጵያን ባህላዊ እና መንፈሳዊ የአእምሮ ጤና ፈውስ ልምምዶችን ከዘመናዊ የአዕምሮ ህክምና ጋር በማዋሃድ ፣ ድጋፍ በመስጠት ፣ እና በምርምር ስራዎች ላይ ተሰማርተዋል። በአሁኑ ወቅት ዶ/ር ዮናስ በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የሕክምና ትምህርት ቤት የሳይካትሪ ተባባሪ ፕሮፌሰርነት ፣ የወደፊት የስነ-አእምሮ ሐኪሞችን በማስተማር ብሩህ እና ብቁ የሆኑ የአዕምሮ ጤና ባለሙያዎች ለመቅረጽ ያለመታከት ይሰራሉ። ከዚህም በተጨማሪ ዶ/ር ዮናስ በህጻናት የአእምሮ ጤና እና ህክምና አሰጣጥ ላይ በመላ ሀገሪቱ ፖሊሲ በመቅረጽ እና በተግባራዊነት ረገድ በርካታ አስተዋጾ አበርክተዋል። በዚህ ክፍል፣ የዶ/ር ዮናስን ልጅነት እና አስተዳደግ ፣ ወደ ሳይካትሪ ያደረጉትን ጉዞ እና የአዕምሮ ጤና እንክብካቤ ፍልስፍናቸዉን፣ ስለ ህጻናት እና ወጣቶች የአእምሮ ጤና እና ህክምና የመሳሰሉትን አንኳር ጉዳዮችን እንዳስሳለን። … This week’s guest is Dr. Yonas Baheritibeb, a pioneering child and adolescent psychiatrist in Ethiopia, known for his extensive contributions to mental health care and as the founder and director of the Sitota Center for Mental Health Care. With his medical education at Addis Ababa University and specialization in child and adolescent psychiatry through a clinical fellowship at the University of Toronto.
