At the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Arms and Armor conservation lab, armorer Ted Hunter shows Adam two examples of conservation on historical helmets--an early 17th-century Italian helmet and a late 16th-century German helmet. Ted shows Adam how he brought back the detailed gilding in the helmets as well as the hardware he had to make to match the original rivets and washers.
