We begin with Ghana’s breathtaking natural beauty and community-led conservation at Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary & Cultural Village, where sacred Mona monkeys roam freely and culture is preserved through ecotourism. Then we travel into the heart of tradition — witnessing the richness of Ashanti craftsmanship at Odomankoma Kente Weaving & Cultural Village in Kumasi, where every thread tells a story of identity, royalty, and legacy. One of the most powerful moments comes during an Akan Naming Ceremony (Abadinto) — a deeply symbolic tradition that welcomes one into community and lineage. From the soul name (kradin) connected to the day of birth, to blessings and ritual teachings of truth and wisdom, this ceremony reminds us: you are not just visiting Ghana… you are being received. We also step into leadership and heritage at Nana Brempong Adabraka’s Palace, then face the heavy truth of history at Cape Coast Castle — once a trade hub, later a major site of the Atlantic slave trade — followed by the soul-stirring journey to Assin Manso Slave River (“The Last Bath”), where enslaved Africans had their final bath on African soil before being forced to the coastal castles. Because several travelers are teachers, this journey also includes a rare look at Ghana’s education environment at Ghana International School — giving them a firsthand cultural exchange experience through learning and youth development. Back in Accra, the group explores Ghana’s creative heartbeat at the Accra Arts Centre (established in 1957), where craft, music, dance, and artistry collide.
