As SNAP benefits hang in the balance, Cleveland's 'Snack Daddy' steps up to fight hunger

On Day 29 of the ongoing government shutdown, more than 1.4 million Ohioans face the looming threat of losing access to SNAP benefits starting Nov. 1. As anxiety grows across the state, communities are rallying to help — including right here in Greater Cleveland. Among those stepping up is Stefan Johnson, better known to millions online as "Snack Daddy." The Emmy-winning voice actor and viral food reviewer is using his platform to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire others to take action. "I woke up yesterday morning, and of course everything that's going on with SNAP is just all down my timeline," Johnson said. "I saw some people really voicing about how they anticipate struggling over the next couple of months, and I know I have this platform and I figured, 'I can do something about it.'" Johnson didn't waste time: He headed straight to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to volunteer, and posted a video to his social media accounts urging others to join him.
