Mais depuis quelque temps, la situation devient critique : les lions sont trop nombreux par rapport au territoire qu'ils occupent et se rapprochent dangereusement des habitations des villageois. Mike Pandey se passionne depuis longtemps pour ces lions rescapés de l'histoire. Scientifique et cinéaste, il les observe et tente de comprendre leurs besoins. Actuellement, il travaille à la réintroduction d'un certain nombre de ces lions dans une autre région de l'Inde.
