Amazon’s largest AI data center is now operational in New Carlisle, Indiana, with half a million AWS Trainium 2 chips entirely devoted to powering OpenAI rival Anthropic. Just over a year ago, the site was nothing but cornfields. Once complete, 30 buildings will consume 2.2 gigawatts of power there.
