Amazon’s largest AI data center is now operational in New Carlisle, Indiana, with half a million AWS Trainium 2 chips entirely devoted to powering OpenAI rival Anthropic. Just over a year ago, the site was nothing but cornfields. Once complete, 30 buildings will consume 2.2 gigawatts of power there. CNBC's MacKenzie Sigalos spoke with AWS CEO Matt Garman about the project, the partnership with Anthropic and AWS's Trainium chips. This interview was taped on October 17, 2025.
