Breathing Room - Leaving enough space around and in between the different elements on the page for everything to be nicely spaced out. Repetition - Elements that repeat signal to viewers a progression. This allows you to guide a viewer's eyes across the page in the order that you want. Alignment - Everything having a rule or following a grid is always a good idea. It's often very destructive for anything to be misaligned. It seems unprofessional and will distract the user from what you're actually trying to get them to see. Articulation - Making sure that everything on the page reads. It's very easy to have letters and pictures blend into one another if they are clearly distinguished. It's always good to make sure that everything on the page is legible. Hierarchy - To avoid everything on the page looking the same, we break it down by using hierarchy. By utilizing different sizes, typefaces, colors, and opacities, we can make a design stand out by assigning certain hierarchy to certain design elements.
