Reviewing Onyx's Boox Note Air 5C, an Android tablet with e-ink screen boasting strong battery life and full Google services -although not a huge number of upgrades vs the 4C. Still, this is my favourite Boox tablet so far, thanks to small tweaks and the more modern Android setup. The Boox Note Air 5C's display appears to be the same tech as before, offering 300ppi visuals in monochrome, or 150ppi for colour. Sure, those tones aren't as vivid as what you'll get on more traditional tablet displays, but they add a splash of life to comics and graphic novels. And the front-lit screen is bright enough for comfortable use, even outdoors on sunny days. You can install any app you like on the Boox Note Air 5C from Google's Play Store, and just about get away with some video streaming. Of course, this tablet is designed for reading and writing - with a bundled stylus for sketching, scribbling notes and annotating PDF files. Battery life is good enough to keep you amused on even the longest of journeys, especially if you're simply reading books.
