The Academy covers mathematics, natural sciences and technology as well as social sciences and humanities and endeavours to increase exchange between different disciplines. The Academy awards many prizes each year. The most well-known are the Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel (the Prize in Economic Sciences). Other prestigious prizes include the Crafoord Prize and the Sjöberg Prize.
