His latest book is Apple: The First 50 Years. Pogue has written about Apple for his entire career, including 13 years as a Macworld columnist, 13 more as the New York Times tech columnist, and 20 years as a bestselling author of books about Macs and iPhones. Speaker Chris Espinosa Senior Employee of Apple Inc. Senior Apple Employee Chris Espinosa first joined Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs in 1976, when they were still working in Jobs' garage. He was officially hired by Apple Computer Inc. in March 1977. Over decades at Apple, he has shipped the Apple II, Macintosh, MacWorks XL, and dozens of other products and features. Espinosa is currently working in Apple Services Engineering. Speaker Jonathan J. Rubinstein Former Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, Apple Jonathan J. Rubinstein is the former senior vice president of hardware engineering at Apple, where he also served as general manager of the iPod Division. He currently serves on the boards of Amazon and Robinhood Markets and previously served on the boards of Qualcomm and Immersion. Rubinstein is a senior advisor at PDT Partners and previously was co-CEO of Bridgewater Associates. He served as chair, president, and CEO of Palm and later joined HP as a senior vice president after its acquisition of the company. Prior to Apple he was at Firepower, NeXT, Stardent, HP, and Computerland of Ithaca. Speaker John Sculley Former CEO of Apple John Sculley served as CEO of Apple from 1983 to 1993. Prior to joining Apple, he was the president of PepsiCo, where he led the creation of the two liter bottle and the Pepsi Challenge. Sculley is the author of Odyssey: Pepsi to Apple a Journey of Adventure, Ideas and the Future; and Moonshot!: Game changing Strategies to Build Billion Dollar Businesses. Currently, he serves as managing partner of the Sculley Family Office with his wife, Diane Sculley. Speaker Avadis "Avie" Tevanian, Jr. Former Apple Software CTO and SVP of Software Engineering Avadis "Avie" Tevanian, Jr. served as Apple's software chief technology officer from 2003 to 2006, and as senior vice president of software engineering from 1997 to 2003. Before joining Apple, he was vice president of engineering at NeXT. Currently, Tevanian is cofounder and managing director of venture capital firm NextEquity Partners and serves as a board member of Dolby. He started his professional career at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a principal designer and engineer of the Mach operating system upon which NeXTSTEP, and now macOS and iOS, are based.
