Description of how to convert your cobra 29 radio to Mosfet final. Close to 40 watts Peak! This works for all breeds of cobra 29. Less than $20 in parts. All U need is a soldering iron, and some basic soldering skills... Video is done from a "Do it at home Yourself" perspective... with mistakes and all! HERE'S a schematic of the variable dead key mod A couple of notes. I usually use the SWR variable on the face of the radio. I do this by removing the Green and white wire and soldering them together and taping or heat shrinking the connection that way it will still work. Leave the black wire connected where it is. This is the 1k trimmer in the schematic. The 14001-7 diode in the schematic is not used or needed so ignore it. Any questions please ask. I'll do the best I can to answer them.
