The wall will also break and follow up the sides of the stairs. To do this, I need to build circular forms which I will frame like a wall, the big difference being that the bottom plate and the top plate will be curved. I cut these curved pieces on the CNC table and then assemble the wall using 2x4 studs. I sheath the wall with 1/2" cdx. Once I got the forms out to the firepit, I brace them into the hillside and use snap-ties to tie the inner and outer forms together. It was a rainy day for the concrete to be deliverd, the but the pour went well and the forms held together. Two days later, I pulled the forms off and was happy with how the concrete retaining wall turned out.
