The war, especially with drones, has become so intense that it’s often safer for soldiers to stay holed up rather than rotate out. For our protagonists “Illich” and “Jerry”, this war has already taken up most of their adult lives. Support, understanding, shared values, and the motivation to continue, these are all things they receive from their own, self-made communities, like “DIE HARD”, a militant straight edge group, whose members reject all types of narcotics.
