Almost all of the recoveries I conduct are done with YANKUM products. I call it G.O.A.T. ROPE for a reason. Marsha was making a routine coffee trip that morning to get her husband and herself coffee. She arrived at Bluetick Coffee as usual, purchased 2 drinks and that was the last time she was seen. After not arriving home her husband very quickly realized something was wrong and began to call family, friends and the authorities. Two days later, evidence of a tragic accident was discovered along the Salmon River known as, "The River of No Return." Vehicle parts and a license plate confirmed to belong to Marsha's vehicle. The conditions of the Salmon River were at the worst of the year. The Salmon River peaking due to runoff from the surrounding 7 Devil Peaks in Hells Canyon and connected waterways. The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office initially did what they could do but conditions were too deadly for them to be in the water. The local town of Riggins, where this took place, relied on the county to help in these scenarios. Without any effective movement in the search, Marsha’s family contacted me and I agreed to help. At the time of the call from Brian’s family, I was in Illinois and just finishing up recovering missing veteran William Weber’s remains. The next day, we headed straight there. Brian and Clancy met me the morning I arrived and walked me through the case, their work, etc. I was blown away by the effort they had put into searching on their own. This video only shows a briefing of what really took place. I will elaborate more in an upcoming “update” video. After weeks of battling the fierce current up to 41K CFS, aerial searches, bank searches, and manipulating sonar to work in CFS that everyone said was impossible to do because sonar doesn’t work in that high of a CFS - we finally prevailed. On June 27, we successfully located and recovered Marsha 1.3 miles north of the Time Zone Bridge. Maggie was unfortunately not found. This deadly recovery was made possible through the combined efforts of United Search Corps, Idaho State Senate, Torch Towing, Riggins Ambulance, Idaho Department of Transportation, Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police, Shawn Davis with Little River Salmon Builders and so many more. The local community in Riggins is a true testament to why this took place and was successful. Riggins is pretty much on their own and has to rely on Idaho County to provide resources. Riggins embraced us as outsiders, welcomed me in and we did it together. After Marsha’s recovery, Riggins Ambulance has now formed, “Riggins Canyon Rescue” a 501c3 non profit. A big step in the right direction for their small community and this is a testament to District Chief Cody Killmar’s passionate leadership. Cody is going to be a key factor to the successful growth and future of Idaho’s largest county. https://www.facebook.com/RigginsAmbulancehttps://www.facebook.com/RigginsAmbulance This video documents the challenges of working in the rugged terrain of Idaho’s notorious Salmon River and the collaborative effort it took to bring closure to Marsha’s family. We are working with Idaho legislators to create safety improvements for this particular stretch of HWY 95.
