Mostly just for video classes and ai workout routine generation All the new features come for free, no subscription required Subscription will give you personalized workout routines and suggestions Morning briefing Only shows relevant details - e.g. if your hr was normal, it won’t show you that. If your HRV was bad, it will show you that UWB Thinner bezels, Bigger, brighter display - up to 2000 nits, also goes down to 1 nit and has dynamic 1-60Hz refresh rate Fitbit exercise suite is finally getting built out with cool and useful features that make it genuinely useful for anyone training for a 5k or half marathon or whatever Can now plan workouts and make segments On run, the watch becomes a real time running coach - based on HR or on pace E.g. intervals will vibrate to tell you when to hit different paces and help you stay Form analysis (running) like samsung Readiness score - just like body battery (no fitbit premium subscription required) Target load - much like WHOOP (waking up to a low target load means chill out today) - I think Ultrahuman does something like this? Cardio load Focus on cardio load and readiness score for a target load per day - similar to whoop and oura. Much better, No more focus on rings Can dig into things like HRV and compare to your normal range for each MINOR CHANGES - the things that won’t make headlines but that stack up to serious quality of life improvements with this watch Watch can become remote for GoogleTV Watch can work with Nest doorbells for live video feed and 2-way com Increased accuracy on HR (most accurate pixel watch ever) - I believe it but how will it compare? Subscribe to find out Gen 2 had up to 40% more accurate HR tracking during HIIT, spinning, rowing compared to first gen. Now with running, this is even more accurate in the gen 3 20% faster charging WearOS 5 Dual chip architecture, but still a 24 hr battery life claim in normal use. You can get 36 hrs in a battery saver mode. Saver mode does not compromise on health features or safety features Connected fitness - Watch pairs with compatible gym equipment Use google maps offline even when not connected (ideal for running in a new city) Auto bedtime mode - detects when you fall asleep and switches modes (disruption free sleep and more efficient power use) CONCLUSION I cannot wait to really put this watch to the test and see how it stacks up against the other watches that came out this year. It is really shaping up to be a big year for wearables already with the OnePlus Watch2 and 2R, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra, and now this! As per usual, this is a Google device so they focus on AI features and their ecosystem. This is meant to do more for you with Glanceable helpfulness such as the doorbell thing, the phone unlock, the morning briefing. This smartwatch really feels… well smart.
