The history of the village of Bogatyrevo is closely connected with the migration of Russian Old Believers in the 18th century. In search of a place to freely practice their faith, they developed the territories of Eastern Kazakhstan, founding new settlements. In 1792, on the site of today's Bogatyrevo, there was a settlement called Osochikha, one of nine villages founded by Old Believer masons. Over time, Osochikha was renamed Bogatyrevo. ​ The Old Believers, known as "masons", were engaged in hunting, agriculture, fishing, beekeeping and later maral breeding. They built villages near rivers, using natural resources to ensure their livelihoods. ​ Thus, the village of Bogatyrevo has a rich history dating back to the end of the 18th century, and is associated with the culture and traditions of Russian Old Believers who moved to these lands in search of freedom of religion and new opportunities for life.
