The 2013 Spanish Grand Prix was a race dominated by tyre strategy and a brilliant drive from Fernando Alonso, who secured a popular home victory for Ferrari. Pole-sitter Nico Rosberg of Mercedes ultimately finished sixth, while Lewis Hamilton, also in a Mercedes, struggled significantly with tyre wear and finished outside the points in twelfth. This victory marked Fernando Alonso's 32nd career win and, notably, his last in Formula 1 as of June 2025.
