Welcome to the Dower House! For the first time ever, we’re opening the doors for a tour of our very own quirky, ever-evolving home in the English countryside. This curious mashup of an 18th-century Georgian manor tacked onto the back of a cottage (or vice versa, depending on how you look at it) was originally part of the main estate. Traditionally, this is where the Lord’s widow, known as the dowager, would retreat once her husband passed and the new Lord took over. In other words: “We love you, but kindly scoot over so the next generation can move in.” These days, it’s where two very tired, but proud parents and one tiny human named Danteo now reside. Before Danteo’s arrival in June 2024, we were deep in panic-renovation mode, trying to turn this worn-down house into something that resembled a home. Some rooms are finished. Others are patiently waiting for their turn. Much of the original charm had been stripped out over the decades, so we’ve been adding it back in - one project at a time.
