This opportunity allowed them to step into the multifaceted roles of designer, builder, and inhabitant, creating a residence that challenges the permanence of traditional architecture by being entirely moveable. The home is a masterclass in contextual sensitivity, designed to be an immersive escape that honors the Tasmanian spirit of connection to the land. Having returned from the urban density of Melbourne, Josh and Millie sought a sanctuary that balanced raw, natural abundance with contemporary refinement. The structure is strategically carved with curated outlooks that act as invitations to the landscape, drawing the eye toward the surrounding bush and making the modest internal footprint feel expansive.
