Video Description

A propaganda video released by the military wing of Hamas claims to show what it called was a raid against Israeli targets. The militant group says it targeted an Israeli operations command headquarters located southeast of the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood in the city of Rafah. Hamas says it fired rockets at Israeli posts, targeting Israeli vehicles and soldiers. The footage shows people discussing plans over a map. Elsewhere in the video, people can be seen holding hand-held rocket launchers and firing from inside dilapidated houses. In another video, the group claims to have targeted Israeli bulldozers and soldiers in the Tel Al-Hawa neighbourhood in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Israeli defence forces claimed to have destroyed 8 terrorist tunnels in the Shejaiya neighbourhood of Gaza. Weapons, laptops and communication equipment were found inside the tunnels. Additionally, equipment that enables extended stays and electricity and gas infrastructure that would be used by the terrorists was located. The Israeli military has published the findings of a first probe into its own security failings during the October 7 attack by Hamas. The military acknowledges it hadn't protected the citizens of one of the worst hit communities, Kibbutz Be'eri. Over 100 people were killed in the attack on Be'eri, a community of about 1,000 people, and 32 taken hostage to Gaza, 11 of whom are still there. The probe found that the military was unprepared for the scenario of a massive infiltration of militants into Israel. It had inadequate forces in the area and did not have a clear picture for a few hours after the attack began. It also did not properly alert Be'eri's residents and its fighting was uncoordinated, the investigation found. The results of the probe were shared with the community members.
