Every time I start a video with ‘this is a…’ or point out something quirky, someone says, ‘Stop copying Doug.’ And today, I want to talk about that—because the truth might surprise you. First of all, let me say this clearly: I respect Doug DeMuro... a lot. He’s a professional automotive YouTuber. He built something incredible, and honestly—if people think I’m in the same conversation? I’ll take that as a compliment. But here’s where I want to draw the line—because while there are surface-level similarities… that’s where it ends. And just so you know, this isn’t some imaginary rivalry thing. I’ve actually met Doug. He came over to review the Toyota Mirai. We hung out, we talked cars, I believe I was his FIRST Youtube Interview “Possibly"... we’re both quirky people, and we even stayed in touch for a bit—texting back and forth. He’s a genuinely nice guy. But we are very different humans doing very different things. Doug does this professionally. For him, YouTube is the job.
