Jackson was born on March 28, 1994, as Wang Ka Yee in Kowloon Tong, a wealthy neighbourhood in British Hong Kong known for its excellent schools and stunning buildings. Wang attended the American International School in Hong Kong until 11th grade, where he was seen playing basketball by a representative from the Korean agency JYP Entertainment. He debuted with the other members of GOT7 in 2014 with the single 'Girls Girls Girls,' after 2.5 years of intensive training. Jackson joined his first variety show, 'SBS Roommate,' shortly after his debut and quickly became everyone’s favourite. In the same year, Wang was named the SBS Newcomer Awardee for the show 'Roommate.' As a result, he has been on numerous variety shows in Korea and China.
