Sift the self-raising flour, plain flour, cinnamon, ginger, mixed spice and baking soda together. 2. Whisk the oil, sugar, eggs and golden syrup together. 3. Gradually whisk the liquid into the flours. 4. Then add in the grated carrot and nuts. 5. Stir together, pour into baking tins and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for approximately 45 minutes.
