How Mobile Games Are Ruining Gaming

How can mobile games ruin the gaming industry? Why are they able to get scot free with almost everything? Which games are the ones that might ruin it? This is what I try to answer on this video. Mobile games are a weird beast, they should be the great equalizer, great games that almost everybody should be able to play without having to throw money at a PS5, Xbox, Switch or at an expensive PC. A platform where ever the smallest dev could put their game on. Imagine a world of homebrew games inspired by the games of the 8 and 16 era of gaming, great RPGs, platformers, action games, the reimagining of the Marios and Zeldas of the past straight on your pocket. Well, in a sense you can get that through emulation but the current mobile gaming market... that's an odd mix of mediocre games, great games that came from other platforms like Dead Cells or Terraria amongst many others or free games... Oh free games, those are the ones that want to make me get all dramatic and write stuff like "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary over the state of the gaming world, a wretched creature caught my eye. The mobile game it was, a foul and insidious beast that threatens to ruin the very essence of gaming. Oh, mobile games, how you have poisoned our minds and corrupted our souls, leaving us with nothing but a shallow, empty shell of what we once were. May the gaming gods have mercy on us all." Diablo immortal, Genshin Impact, Raid Shadow Legend, Uma Musume, Candy Crush, Asphalt, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale and so on. Weird blends of terrible monetization, abusive tactics designed to make people addicted, gambling mechanics, lootboxes, breaches of privacy, shallow design... And the worst issue is that they are so lucrative that most gaming companies want to make all the other gaming markets into something similar, a low effort, insidious design heaven for companies hellhole for players sort of gaming scene.
