Video Description
June 1944 — Normandy. German snipers controlled every rooftop, church steeple, and barn loft. American officers were dying faster than units could advance. Counter-sniper patrols failed. Artillery couldn’t find the hidden shooters. The frontline stalled. Then a dairy farmer from Wisconsin changed the war. Technical Sergeant Raymond “Ray” Kozlowski didn’t learn tactics in a classroom. He learned them in grain silos back home — climbing rusted ladders, working in darkness, and spending hours motionless inside concrete tubes. When his friends were killed by German sniper fire, Ray used terrain no one considered: the farm silos. Hidden inside the concrete cylinder, Ray built the first “silo sniper nest.” From extreme elevation, through a twelve-inch cutout he made himself, he hunted German officers with precision and patience. In two days, command structure dissolved. Radios went silent. Leaders refused to expose themselves. The advance toward Carentan opened. One farmer. One idea. Twenty-eight officers gone. A forgotten tactic that changed the battlefield.
