Michael Pollan (UC Berkeley, journalism) is an award-winning author who has written about the intersection of food, nature, and culture. In his latest (and most personal) book, "How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence," he turns his focus to psychedelics. Pollan illuminates the history and use of LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, and the like, and explores their potential to help people not only transcend, but also treat conditions from addiction to anxiety.
