How to install 2 SSD drives in a laptop that has 1 SSD slot (SSD + SSD), Asus VivoBook upgrade video

* Watch with closed captions turned ON In this video I'll show you how to add a second SSD drive (Samsung M.2) to a new laptop that already has an SSD drive - so you can keep your current SSD drive when you upgrade! I use an empty HDD slot and a SATA adapter. (Steps start at 2:50mins if you want to jump ahead.) * Note: You can also use a 2.5 inch SATA SSD drive - if you do this you don't need an adapter and M.2 SSD drive to do the upgrade. Otherwise the process would be the same (just leave out the steps with the adapter). Equipment: Asus VivoBook S15 S510UN, 8265NGW (8GB RAM, 500GB SSD only), 2019 model Samsung Evo 860 SATA M.2 250GB SSD drive StarTech M.2 NGFF SSD to 2.5 in SATA SSD adapter (SAT32M255) - many other cheap, compatible brands are available https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00ITJ7U20 Xenta Precision Toolset (UK) Optional: 8GB RAM - SK Hynix HMA81GS6AFR8N-UH Non ECC PC4-19200 2400Mhz 8GB 1.2V DDR4 Sodimm Laptop Memory (installed before video recorded, if you want to upgrade RAM too) I use an Asus VivoBook in this guide but other models can also be upgraded in this way. You don't have to be using this specific equipment so long as the SSD drive, SATA adapter and your laptop are compatible with each other, and you have a free HDD SATA slot. Check manufacturer specs or open the laptop using this guide to see if you have free slots. I recommended you do this to protect your laptop. However, the upgrade can also be done without disconnecting the battery.
