I attached a 3 jaw lathe machine chuck to this diy slotting machine. This 3 jaw lathe chuck is used to hold the workpiece while cutting keyway. The rotary motion from the hand drill machine is converted into reciprocating motion by slider crank mechanism. This reciprocating motion is used to cut the keyway on the metal parts. Without using lathe machine we can very easily cut keyway by using this homemade drill powered keyway slotting machine. This diy slotting machine is a very small homemade machine. Any drill machine can be very easily fixed to this homemade slotting machine. This homemade slotting machine is used to cut keyway in metal gears, metal pulley.
