How to make two monitors show different things, in Windows 10, is what we look at in this video today. We're using a dual monitor setup. When you've got a dual monitor setup, and turn on your monitors for the first time, you might find that you get a duplicated display - so you've got exactly the same information displaying on each display on your Windows 10 PC. Or your monitors might even be duplicated, but you didn't know you could have two separate screens to work on from one PC. There may be many reasons. With your two monitors showing different things - i.e. different monitors, which is known as an extended display, this gives you a lot more screen space to do what you want to do. It can help you boost your productivity with dual monitors. It can be particularly useful if you're doing very specific tasks. We'll now look at how to extend the display and make two monitors show different things - simply follow these steps 👇👇👇 1️⃣ Make sure that your computer / PC and monitors / external displays are hooked up and powered on. 2️⃣ Once your duplicated displays are on, go to and click on the magnifying glass; in the search box type - 'extend'. 3️⃣ Select the 'duplicate or extend it to a connected display' option, as shown, by left clicking on your mouse. 4️⃣ The DISPLAY SETTINGS page opens - note that a duplicated monitor set up is signified by a 1 and 2 next to each other with a line in between i.e. 1|2. 5️⃣ To change the display so you've got two separate displays, go down to 'MULTIPLE DISPLAYS' and underneath, from the drop down box, select 'EXTEND THESE DISPLAYS'. 6️⃣ A 'keep these display settings? banner will appear on screen, asking you if you want to keep the changes or revert. 7️⃣ Choose to keep the changes provided you're happy with your choice. Note that if you don't make a choice within 15 seconds, the settings will revert back to your current settings. 8️⃣ If you have chosen to keep the extended monitor setup, you will now have two displays with entirely different screens!
