At the risk of sounding like a broken record (or an Ed Sheeran LP), there's no Play Store so it's APKs or hackaboutery all the way. Get over the limited app support for the Huawei MatePad 12x however and it's a capable wee tablet, which coverts into a laptop-style device with the cover keyboard. Unlike the best Android tablets, this 12-inch slate has a PaperMatte screen which is ideal for outdoors visibility. Factor in the powerful speakers and the Huawei MatePad 12X is an entertainment powerhouse. Battery life is also dependable to enhance that portability, so no complaints there. Of course, it's not all good news. There's no eSIM support, or expandable storage, or fingerprint sensor, or IP rating. If that bugs you, check out the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 which I just reviewed.
