Instead, overdoses exploded, fentanyl flooded the streets, and East Hastings became ground zero for Canada's opioid crisis. By 2024, they reversed it. But the people living on these streets believe the real reason is FIFA 2026. The World Cup is coming to Vancouver, and they think the government wants them gone before the world watches. I went to East Hastings to ask the people living this crisis what it's actually like.
