The British Aerospace 146 and Avro RJ are a family of regional airliners designed and built in the United Kingdom. These unique 4-engined airliners were designed with to serve regional markets with low operating costs, fast turnaround times, steep approaches, and short runways, all with a minimal noise footprint. Today, the only scheduled operators of the type are somewhat hard to reach, in places like Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Bolivia, and Chile. There are still several of the type still flying around Canada, but they operate charters only.
