The Last Of Us, Part II's release was much more divisive. Made to be less of a direct sequel, and more of an experiment on empathy, The Last Of Us, Part II set out to test if we could hate a character at the top of the game, and then forgive her by the end. They were only half right. Players questioned certain narrative choices (big heavy spoilers) and the game's refusal to let players enjoy themselves, but it didn't have to be this way. With a remaster of Part II out for PlayStation 5 (and soon for PC), and a new series of the show coming soon featuring this game -- let's revisit The Last of Us, Part II and see if there was a better story to be told buried in this unforgiving world.
