I Rebuilt My First PC From 2005…

Join me in this journey to rebuild my first personal computer from 2005. This PC was originally a birthday present from my parents and served me extensively throughout my teenage years. This was arguably one of the most impacting and important things I ever owned! Music, software, MSN, games, MMOs, web 1.0, viruses – this era had it all! I’ve some fond memories from the old days of gaming on this machine, so my goal is to recapture some of that magic and preserve it for future years and generations. This journey takes me through retrospect, planning, unboxing, cleaning, repairing, upgrading, debugging, updating, installing and reviewing! Absolutely No stone is left unturned! The PC itself has been sitting in storage for the last ten years, as I migrated to Mac when I left for university to study a BSc degree. Only recently I had the PC back with me and got it to boot again! It’s a little bit of magic to see an old friend like this, so naturally I wanted to give it a bit of love. I didn’t really have a wishlist, or set build for this, so this rebuild evolved naturally over the duration of this project. The entire thing has taken around two and a half months to finish, complete with learning, filming, editing, debugging and engineering all around my regular 9-5 work (some sleepless nights too). I’ve always wanted to do a project like this for YouTube, but didn’t realize it would grow into such a mammoth task! However, I’ve been in my element during this project and I am exceptionally happy with the end result. I know YouTube is very click/thumbnail orientated these days, along with heavy editing (ADHD viewers), so I’ve tried to keep the video as engaging as possible with my own style.
