Put your onion and garlic in a pot or large pan and sauté for 5 minutes on medium heat. 2. Add your basil, oregano, and thyme and mix with your onions and garlic. 3. Turn your burner on low and add your crushed tomatoes. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. 4. Add your maple syrup and if you want your sauce smooth use your immersion blender to smooth your sauce. Pizza dough: 2 and a 1/2 tablespoons of active yeast 1 cup of warm water 2 cups of whole wheat flour 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed 1 tablespoon of apple sauce Recipe: 1. Add your warm water and active yeast in a small bowl. Whisk and let it sit until it activates (bubble and a small cloud forms) 2. In a larger bowl, add your flour and ground flaxseed in a bowl and whisk together. 3. Once the yeast activates, add your apple sauce and whisk together. 4. Pour the wet bowl into the dry bowl and whisk together. 5. With your hands, make a ball of dough. Making the pizza: 1. Place down a quarter cup of flour and place the dough on top and flatten it out. 2. Add your marinara sauce on top of the dough. 3. Add your cheese on top along with your toppings (we put on sweet peppers, mushrooms, and red onions) 4. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes. 5. Serve and enjoy!!!
