I accidentally became an illustrator as a result of a daily drawing project that spanned 14 years. Throughout my career I’ve worked with clients like Cartoon Network, Microsoft, Facebook, Adidas, Nickelodeon, and countless others. Adobe Illustrator just added a new feature in the beta called Turntable… and it’s weird. Basically, you can take a 2D vector drawing, hit a button, and Illustrator will spin it around like it’s on a lazy susan. Suddenly, your flat art has different angles — kind of like fake 3D, but still vector. In this video, I test it out on my own drawings (including a cardinal that did not sign up for this experiment). Does it actually work? Is it useful? Or is it just another strange Adobe idea that makes you go “huh”?
