This video is all about introducing you to the world of Impedance Matching. For most folks who think about this, it can be quite an intimidating subject. "I could never do that!" is the common mantra. It turns out, however, that is isn't as hard as it seems on the surface. I want to emphasize ... YOU CAN DO THIS! I want to help you to gain some confidence and the skill to do this. In this video I will introduce you to the goal of Impedance Matching as well as the two methods you could use to do it. One of these two methods is the oft avoided Smith Chart (of itself is more intimidating than it needs to be). I will help you tiptoe into the shallows of the aspects of the Smith Chart you need so you can perform Impedance Matching using discrete components like capacitors and inductors. In the next video I am going to be using the Smith Chart to actually design an Impedance Matching circuit using the principles learned in this video.
