The history of Stonor is bound up with the religious turmoil of the English Reformation in the sixteenth century; but the story begins at the prehistoric stone circle which stands close to the house itself. Julie is guided through the history of Stonor by William; hearing of Williams American heritage, the challenges faced by his parents in the 1970s when the family moved back into the house.
