Video Description

Let’s visit Latin America's busiest Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower. Discover their work from behind the scenes! El Dorado Int'l Airport in Bogota has 1,100 movements daily, making it the busiest airport in Latin America. I visited the busy Air Traffic Control tower and discovered how the complex ATC system includes radar controllers, towers, and centers that work together. From the tower with a great view over the airport, the controller explained about their working positions, the navigation and separation between planes, and how a typical departing plane communicates with ATC in several phases (push back, taxi, and takeoff). I also visited the Air Traffic Control Center below the tower. This center manages high and medium flying level traffic inside the Bogota FIR with over 3,000 daily movements. The role of ATC is crucial for preventing collisions and keeping our skies safe. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_busiest_airports_in_Latin_America#2024:_30_Busiest_airports
