His ship landed in the American countryside near the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas. He was found and adopted by farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent, who named him Clark Kent. The Kents quickly realised he is superhuman, having superpowers gained from the Earth's yellow sun, such as superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, stamina, senses, hearing, impervious skin, flight, heat vision, x-ray vision, wind and freeze breath, and slowed aging. His adoptive parents advised him to use his powers to benefit humanity, and he decided to fight crime as a vigilante. To protect his personal life, he changes into a primary-colored costume and uses the alias "Superman" when fighting crime. Clark resides in the fictional American city of Metropolis, where he works as a journalist for the Daily Planet. Written and directed by James Gunn, it is the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) produced by DC Studios, the first film of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, and the second reboot of the Superman film series. David Corenswet stars as Clark Kent / Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced.
