Recorded October 21, 2024. While AI has made remarkable strides in recent years, it is just the beginning. In her lecture, Bringing Generative AI into the Physical World, Professor Raquel Urtasun explores how the next frontier for AI will bring this technology from the virtual world into the physical one. Urtasun is founder and CEO of Waabi, an AI company building the next generation of self-driving technology, as well as a professor in the Department of Computer Science and a co-founder of the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence. In 2024, she was named a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada for her contributions to computer science. This lecture is part of the Department of Computer Science’s 60th Anniversary edition of the C.C. “Kelly” Gotlieb Distinguished Lecture Series and took place at U of T’s Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus.
