About

For over 20 years, I've been living off-grid, powered by a DIY micro hydro generator built from a repurposed smart-drive washing machine . This channel started as a way to share that project and demonstrate how easy it can be to live sustainably. Over time, my focus expanded to include sustainably harvesting timber for firewood and building materials. To make that work easier, I began acquiring and restoring vintage machinery – on a shoestring budget. Seeing these abandoned workhorses come back to life has become a passion, and I love sharing the process with you. My ultimate goal is to inspire others to embrace resourcefulness, reduce waste, and find creative solutions to everyday challenges. If you're interested in DIY off-grid projects, machinery restoration, or simply living a more sustainable life, subscribe and join me on this journey.

Hydraulic Seal kit from FridayParts - http://shop.fridayparts.com/46qRH8P The front-end loader on my Kubota L1-18 had badly leaking hydraulic rams, so I pulled them apart for a full rebuild. In this video, I show the whole process step by step, including a few simple tricks that make the job much easier. ✅ Loosening a stubborn gland nut with a quick tapping trick ✅ Warming new seals in hot hydraulic oil so they slip on easily ✅ Using a zip tie to stretch piston seals over the edge without damaging them ✅ Reassembling the cylinders and testing for leaks After the rebuild, I put the tractor to work shifting rocks into a slumped section of my driveway — and the loader performed perfectly with no more oil leaks. If you’ve got a tractor or loader with leaking hydraulic cylinders, this DIY guide will give you the confidence and know-how to fix it yourself. 👉 Like and subscribe for more repair tips, machinery fixes, and rebuild projects. #Kubota #TractorRepair #HydraulicCylinder #LoaderRepair #FarmFixes
