You can run VirtualBox Virtual machines on less, but you may crash your host system, or have odd problems. Make sure to know the system requirements for the distribution of linux you will be installing. The default settings in VirtualBox are far too low for many distro’s. Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 requires 2GB of RAM and 20GB of Storage. Network Settings To start leave network setting “Attached to:” as NAT. The “Attached to:” setting is used for allowing network communication to and from your virtual machines.
