I colorized, restored and created a sound design for this video of Los Angeles in the 1950s, a city that at the time was rapidly expanding with new freeways, bustling downtown streets, and sprawling neighborhoods stretching into the San Fernando Valley. The footage captures the unique atmosphere of postwar Los Angeles, where modern cars, neon signs, and palm-lined boulevards reflected both the glamour of Hollywood and the everyday life of Angelenos in a city that was becoming the symbol of America’s automobile-driven future.
