Maïté Dupuis: Exploring physics, inspiring minds

Maïté Dupuis fell in love with physics as a student. Encouraged by a mentor, however, she landed an internship at Perimeter Institute, and discovered a whole world of possibilities. Now, Maïté is a researcher exploring quantum gravity – “the attempt to find the atoms of spacetime,” she explains. Her particular expertise is in loop quantum gravity, an idea that treats spacetime as a dynamic entity rather than a fixed background. For Maïté, science is about being curious, asking big questions, and discovering things no one has seen before. She pursues big questions in her own research while also encouraging the graduate students she mentors to do the same. Perimeter’s research spans from the infinitesimal to the infinite, from particle physics to cosmology. At its core, Perimeter recruits and trains trailblazers exploring new frontiers.
